Sclerotherapy of Spider Veins

Spider telangiectasias are small veins easily seen on the surface of skin.  Although associated with aging, they may simply be considered a product of heredity.  Spider veins are commonly treated on the legs and around the nose.

Sclerotherapy is a procedure in which a solution is injected into a vein, causing irritation of its lining, and causing it to subsequently disappear.

Most people return directly to work or normal activity following treatment.  Mild compression is usually used for 1 to 3 days.  Exercise is restricted for 48 hours.  Most people see results after 2-3 weeks.
